Der Casino und das Cervantes Haus

Zwei Jugendstil Beispiele vom neunzehnten Jahrhundert. Sie liegen nebeneinander an der Hauptstraße der Stadt. Das Kasino ist ein Kulturverein für die feine Gesellschaft. Das Erdgeschoss ist aus Holz, und das Obergeschoss ist aus Zink. Der katalanische Architekt Victor Beltrí renoviert das Kasino. Dank Victor Beltrí hat Cartagena, nach Barcelona, viele modernistische Gebäude.

Das Cervantes Haus baut auch Beltrí für einen Minenunternehmer aus la Unión. Am Endgeschoss liegt das Café España. Dort kann man die Süßigkeiten “suspiros” essen.[1] Das Gebäude hat vier Geschosse aus Marmor, an der Fassade sehen wir viele Symbole über den Handel, die Industrie und den Bergbau. An der Tür gibt es zwei Platten aus Bronze mit den Köpfen von den römischen Gott und Göttin Merkur und Minerva.
